How La Pompe Country Apartments collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Last updated: September 2026

La Pompe Country Apartments ("we", "us") is run by Mrs Dee Castledine, Ruette de la Pompe, Les Mouilpieds, St. Martin, Guernsey GY4 6TJ. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We take your privacy seriously and handle your information in line with the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, please contact us at lapompe4guernsey@gmail.com or on 07781 427535 (call or WhatsApp).

Information we collect

We only collect the information we need to answer your enquiry and manage your stay. Depending on how you contact us, this may include:

  • your name, address, email address and telephone numbers;
  • the names and, for children, the ages of everyone in your party;
  • the apartment, dates and bed preferences you request;
  • travel details you choose to give us, such as flight or ferry times and your expected arrival time;
  • the name of your travel insurance company, if you provide it;
  • how you heard about La Pompe;
  • records of payments you make to us (we do not collect card details through this website);
  • anything else you choose to tell us in a message.

How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and reservation requests and to take steps at your request before a booking is made.
  • To manage your booking, including confirming it, taking payment, sending directions and arranging your arrival. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping financial records for tax and accounting purposes.
  • For our legitimate interests in running our business, for example keeping a record of past guests so we can recognise you if you return, and understanding how guests find us.

We will never sell your information, and we do not send marketing emails.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where necessary, with:

  • our email provider (Google), which delivers and stores our email;
  • our website hosting provider, which stores form submissions on our behalf;
  • our bank or payment provider when you pay us;
  • our accountant, and authorities such as the Guernsey Revenue Service where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store data outside the Bailiwick of Guernsey, including in the UK, EU or USA. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, as permitted by the law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not lead to a booking for no longer than 12 months. We keep booking and payment records for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes, normally six years after your stay, and then delete them securely.

Cookies and this website

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track your browsing. The website may set strictly necessary cookies needed for it to work securely, such as protecting our forms from spam. Our About page includes a video from YouTube, shown in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set cookies unless you choose to play the video; if you do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies. Links to other websites, such as Google Maps and what3words, are subject to those websites' own privacy policies.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017 you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information, or to restrict how we use it;
  • object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests;
  • ask us to transfer your information to another organisation;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To make a request, please contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA), Guernsey: www.odpa.gg.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
